Wednesday, December 24th: "Tuba Holiday" of the Salem Concert Band (in Salem,
Oregon). John got to stand in front of the ensemble to compare his tuba with
an F-Alphorn. A fun concert: see a whole bunch of tuba players laughing during
their rests in the last picture.
Saturday, December 6th: Christmas concert of the Ohlone band program. First
two pictures of the massed brass ensemble, playing David Lovrien's arrangement
of "Adeste Fideles" (first photo by Jasper Gong).

Saturday, August 02, 2014: Final concert of the Cazadero music camp, high school session. No pictures yet (have to pull them out of the video recording), but the video is online on youtube. John was in the concert band, not in the symphony orchestra for this concert.

Sunday, October 20th: Before and after the West Valley Silver Lightning 99 won
1st place in their divison tournament.
Friday, October 4th: The SHS marching band doing their field show at the
halftime of the football game. In the second picture, John is the leftmost
sousaphone.
Monday, September 2nd (labor day): Scaffolding, on the south side of
the house, on wooden platforms, to repair the gutters.

Saturday, January 5th: First Rugby game of the season. John (scrum
half, number 10) with his new club, the Palo Alto Seahawks, in the
Middle School team.
Saturday, December 15th: Soccer tournament at Yerba Buena High School. It was
cold (about 40°F or 5°C), windy, and raining. First game against the
Mount Hamilton PAC Strikers, John in goal (yellow jersey); his team lost 0:5 or so.
Second game against Redwood Barcelona; John's team lost 0:3.
Sunday, December 16th: Last game of the tournament, against the San Jose Willow S.C.
Wizards.
John's team won 2:1; John was playing midfield and scored the second goal.
Saturday, November 18th: Coach gives a speech to the team after the soccer tournament in
Morgan Hill.
Saturday, September 29nd: Soccer game, against San Bruno. John in goal (yellow jersey).
Tuesday, July 10th: Linda and John along the Oregon coast. The concrete structure is a dock
that broke loose in Japan during the tsunami and washed ashore here.
Saturday, July 7th: Final concert of the Cazadero music camp. Still photos of
the choir, and John in the choir.
April 3rd: In the afternoon was the last soccer game of the season: Rolling
Hills Eagles against Union Middle School (no pictures). In the evening, band concert:
March 24th: After the CMEA Solo & Ensemble Competition.
The little blue paper is the "Command Performance" certificate.
March 11th, 18th and 25th: Rugby games against East Palo Alto (red jerseys
black shorts), Lamorinda (black jerseys black pants without numbers), and Los
Gatos (black jerseys with white stripes and orange numbers).
Friday, March 2nd: Rolling Hills Middle School Band field trip to
Disneyland in Anaheim. Here are a few highlight pictures.

February: Away games of the Santa Clara Youth Rugby U12 team (in
blue jerseys, John is number 15, the fullback), at Danville and
Marin:
January 11th: Concert of the Campbell School District's joint
symphonic band and honors band. The first picture is from the
Campbell Patch newspaper, by Marla Sanchez.
December 15th, 2011: Christmas concert of the Symphonic band. John
for the first time in concert with his own tuba.
November 2011: John with his birthday present.

March 2011: John and his friend Cameron went skiing at Bear Valley,
and we stayed at Robert's cabin. The snow was falling so heavy on
Sunday that we couldn't take pictures.

May 2010: The craziest thing we've ever done in the forest: We pulled a new
watertank from our road up the slope to the ridge line. The tank is
9' (3m) diameter and height.
